JA More than Money at Oasis de Paix
The students of Oasis de Paix completed the JA More than Money Program during a two-day implementation on the 19th and 20th August 2021. They were 21 participants who attended both days of the implementation and were subsequently awarded a certificate.
Through the program, the participants:
1) Explored money-management skills and became familiar with the key differences between earning, saving and spending.
2) Learnt about the ways in which people’s interests and skills can help them identify small businesses they can start.
3) Identified the fundamental steps of starting a small business and develop a basic business plan.
4) Understood why financial institutions lend money and why people borrowed money for their businesses.
5) Explored the opportunities and challenges of global markets.
The implementation of the JA More than Money program was made possible thanks to the support of the New Zealand High Commission.
