JA Mascareignes (Mauritius) to host African Entrepreneurship Competition

JA Mascareignes will host the JA Africa Virtual Regional Company of the Year Competition 2021.

The JA Africa Virtual Company of the Year Competition (COY) 2021 will be held from the 24th to the 26th February 2022. The COY is Africa’s premier pitch competition for high school youth who have competed in the flagship JA Company Program. The 3-day event brings together students from 9 countries across Africa to compete for prizes by pitching and presenting their products to a panel of judges composed of business professionals and influencers from the continent. The other countries that will take part in the competition are: Côte d’Ivoire, Kingdom of Eswatini (previously Swaziland), Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The theme for this year’s competition is “Innovating with Grit”, it is inspired by the need for young people to demonstrate a sense of resilience and adaptability to overcome the challenges that have happened globally in the entrepreneurship space given the COVID-19 pandemic.

“JA Mascareignes is extremely proud of the opportunity to host the forthcoming virtual COY. We strongly encourage the youth to enroll in the local JA Mini Company program to benefit from this extremely exciting, enriching and once in a lifetime experience”.
