The JA Mascareignes Online Work Readiness Program is an initiative where students aged 16-23 learn about key work-readiness skills in the comfort of their home. The program is an adaptation of the popular JA Career Success program which has been offered by JA Mascareignes since 2015.
The JA Mascareignes Online Financial Seminar is an adaptation of JA Managing Your Money Smartly, where this financial seminar is conducted online. It teaches the youth about proper money management, savings, making a budget and being a smart consumer.
Goal is a life skills program designed exclusively for girls aged 12 to 18 years. This program is offered in collaboration with Women Win and the Standard Chartered Bank.
In English speaking countries, the program’s name is JA Our Community. In Mauritius, the program is implemented in French/ Kreol so as to meet the needs and culture of our beneficiaries.
JA More than Money introduces third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students to financial literacy and entrepreneurship and to social studies learning objectives that include money-management, goods and services, and global markets. Through hands-on activities and a JA cast of characters serving as symbols for financial literacy and entrepreneurship concepts, students will learn a practical approach to starting a business and making smart decisions about managing money.
JA Company Program encompasses business, entrepreneurship, and economics curriculum for young people ages 15 – 19 years old. This program emphasizes business content, while providing hands-on experiences for starting, managing, and liquidating a business.
JA Career Success is composed of seven 45-minute sessions recommended for Secondary School students. Materials are packaged in a self-contained kit that includes detailed plans for the volunteer and materials for the students.
Cim conscious of the need of educating the young people of Mauritius of the importance of educating youth and young adults on how to manage their money in a responsible way has requested JAM to set up these interactive talks.
This program is developed with a primary emphasis on social studies content, while providing a strong secondary emphasis on mathematics, reading and writing skills.
JA Ourselves introduces kindergarten students to the intersection of financial literacy and early elementary grades social studies learning objectives. Through hands-on classroom activities, the program provides students with an introduction to personal economics and the choices consumers make to meet their needs and wants.
JA Our Families introduces students to learning objectives for first-grade social studies, including families, neighborhoods, money, and needs and wants. Through hands-on classroom activities, students also explore the concept of entrepreneurship, specifically the ways in which businesses provide goods, services, and jobs for families.
JA Our City introduces students to financial literacy and learning objectives for third–grade social studies, including the characteristics of cities, the importance of economic exchange, and how people and businesses in cities manage their money. Students will apply money-management strategies to personal and business accounts.
Participants in this program will learn about entrepreneurship by becoming entrepreneurs. They will work in groups to come up with business ideas, raise money to get the business started, market their business ideas and earn money while improving their communities.
